Pictured are Anzac Day themed painted rocks, handmade and hidden around Tocumwal by Carol Bradshaw.
During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2021, a Tocumwal local was inspired to create ‘Tocumwal Rocks’ - a group where you can find painted rocks hidden around Tocumwal.
Finding a painted rock can bring a little thrill to your walk around town, and if you use social media, you can take a photo of the rock and post it to the dedicated Tocumwal Rocks Facebook page before hiding it somewhere else for others to find.
If you want to join in the fun and paint a rock of your own, make sure you draw the Facebook symbol on the back with the words ‘photo, post, re-hide’ and either TocRocks or 2714.
Happy hunting!

If you have walked along the Town Beach track and boat ramp over the past few weeks, you would have noticed a number of dead corellas on the ground and in the water.
Berrigan Shire Council have released a statement advising that they have not undertaken any sanctioned culling and are not aware of any sanctioned culling of the corellas, leaving their deaths unexplained.
NSW Environmental Protection Authority has launched an investigation into the matter and has taken carcases to analyse to determine the cause of the mass deaths.
When I contacted council on the matter, I was advised that if it was mouse baits that are causing the issue, then there would be little threat to fish in the river as the baits become inactive when in the water. But when walking our dog, we are to keep her away from the deceased birds.
I, like many, look forward to reading an outcome on council’s investigations.
