Crew members from Blighty RFS Brigade attended the scene after the call came in at 7.30pm on Saturday, May 14.
Police and Ambulance were also on the scene and one person was treated by paramedics.
Mid Murray RFS operations officer Gerard James said to take extra caution when on the roads.
“With the wet weather and pot holes it is important to take in easy on the smaller back roads, to keep yourself and others safe.”
Driver allegedly more than twice the legal limit
A driver who was allegedly more than twice the legal alcohol limit has booked himself a day in court.
The 52-year-old from The Pocket on the NSW North Coast allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.101 when he was pulled over by police in Macauley St, Deniliquin, at 8.20am on Sunday, May 15.
His driver’s licence was suspended immediately.
He has been charged with having a mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol and will face Deniliquin Local Court on July 6.
Vacuum cleaner and jewellery stolen
A vacuum cleaner and a necklace were stolen from a unit in the east part of Deniliquin while the owner was away working.
Police said the items were stolen some time between 4pm on May 12 and 5pm on May 15.
Car window smashed
A car window was smashed early Saturday, May 15, in what police believe was an attempt to break into a car in the east part of Deniliquin.
Deniliquin police Senior Constable Peter Joice said the car’s owner woke to the sound of a loud bang at 5am, and discovered the broken window when he went to investigate.
Sen Constable Joice said it was believed the would-be thief had used a screwdriver, as one was left at the scene.
Nothing was taken.
Wallet stolen
A wallet was stolen from a vehicle in south Deniliquin about 3am on Sunday, May 15.
Police said the car’s owner was woken by the sound of a car alarm.
The door handle cover on the Commodore was knocked off and there was significant damage to the keyhole.
Break and enter
A would-be thief ran away empty handed after they broke into a unit in the north of Deniliquin.
Sen Constable Joice said the person got inside the unit after removing a flyscreen from a window and reaching in and unlocking the door, but fled when they were disturbed by a resident.
Resisting police
A Deniliquin man had to be wrestled to the ground and handcuffed after he resisted police when they tried to search him on Friday, May 13.
Sen Constable Joice said police stopped to talk to the 45-year-old, who they believed was acting suspicious about 3.50pm.
He resisted police efforts and went to grab something in his pocket, causing police to wrestle him to the ground, Sen Constable Joice said.
An ice-pipe and crystal substance that police believe was methamphetamines was allegedly found in his pocket.
The man was issued with a court attendance notice to appear in Deniliquin Local Court at a later date.
