The inaugural fair was hosted by the St Joseph's Jerilderie Social & Fundraising Committee on Saturday, and hailed a huge success.
Speaking on behalf of the organising committee, Eden Hercus said despite setbacks relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and flooding it was “an amazing free community event”.
“It was absolutely wonderful to see the community and surrounding towns come together and create lasting memories with their family and friends,” she said.
“Just short of 800 people attended the fair, enjoying the various free family activities as well as sitting back and relaxing to the talented Iron Bark String Band who entertained the crowd.
“Thirty market stallholders in attendance were kept busy with customers browsing their products and produce.
“The night concluded with an outdoor cinema experience under the dazzling Jerilderie sunset.”
Mrs Hercus said the committee was “extremely excited” with the results, and wish to pass on their thanks to the local community groups, businesses and individuals who contributed to make the event such a success.
The group also acknowledged funding from the NSW Government Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Grant Program, which enabled the event to be made free.
“I am sure we can agree we are all looking forward to next year's fair and what new exciting attractions it may bring,” Mrs Hercus said.
