The free brekkie is being run by North Central CMA to celebrate the environmental water delivered to Lake Murphy during winter and spring 2021.
The water deliveries resulted in a bird population explosion, including brolga, glossy ibis and little bitterns.
NCCMA catchment restoration officer Emma Wolters said about 60 different bird species were enjoying Lake Murphy right now.
“The lakes in the Kerang area are some of the most species-rich in southern Australia, and we want to show them off,” Ms Wolters said.
“And we’ve been doing a lot of complementary work to keep rabbit and fox numbers down around the lake to make it an even more attractive place for birds to feed and breed.”
Breakfast with the Birds will run from 5am to 10.30am, is free, and includes coffee, tea and a light breakfast.
A BirdLife Australia science and research project officer and ecologist will be on hand to answer questions and share their bird knowledge.
Bring a hat, water bottle, binoculars, camera and a chair if you want one.
