Tocumwal area was hit by another mini tornado on Wednesday, April 29 about 4pm in the afternoon.

From all reports, while most of the damage was moderate the storm itself was very frightening.
One Geraki farmer sheltering in his shearing shed saw the family trampoline go flashing by and sheets of iron being ripped from the hay shed.
These sheets were later found 300m from the shed with their wooden battens still attached. The shed looks like a toothless warrior.
A stand of sugar gums in a windbreak around the sheds and house, took the full force of the vortex and ended up smashed and twisted on the ground, breaking though fences as they fell.
The clean-up took several days and the woodpile has benefitted from the cut up gums.
There were also reports of trees down through the river bends and on Lower River Road, a roof lost at Katunga and another trampoline went flying in Keogh Drive.
Luckily no one was hurt but some got the fright of their lives

This week Berrigan Shire Council has given the following information about clearing your homes of excess items:
“Clearing the spare room or kids cupboards whilst in isolation? That’s great but please, refrain from donating goods at Op Shops as most have closed temporarily and are therefore having to pay to take these wasted goods to the tip and that is not fair. All their profits after paying their overheads, go back into our community one way or another.”
Hold on to your items until we are out the other side of Coronavirus. You can sell on, “buy, swap and sell internet sites , or take your stuff to the tip yourself
Berrigan Shire tips are all open at their usual times:Berrigan - Tuesdays and Thursdays 1.30pm to 4pm, Sundays 12.30pm to 4pmTocumwal - Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays 1.30pm to 4pmFinley Recycling Centre - Sundays 8.30am to midday (small items can be dropped off any time).

Tough times like we are living through now, can be an invitation to slow down and connect with our creative heart and soul, which is also a place where we can find peace and comfort.
When viewed through this softer lens, life's challenges can seem less daunting and more manageable.

One of the best ways to connect with your creative self and find that sense of peace is by doing something creative such as making art, and particularly artful journaling.
Art is therapeutic in that it allows us to express our thoughts and emotions in a safe and healthy way using paint and paper and even fabric and stitch.
And what a wonderful means of expressing your feelings at this time
If you're inspired to slow down a little and make space for some peace and comfort in your own life, you are invited to browse through the free tutorials on YouTube and pick out something you like.
I have taken up making little cards with watercolour flowers on the front.
Resources cost under $10 with watercolours from a $2 shop.
Possibly not what the professionals use but I am enjoying myself and making cute little cards to keep in touch with friends and family.

A couple of bits of whimsy to make you smile.
Remember to drink plenty of water and to get some sunlight Basically you are a house plant with more complicated emotions.
Stretching is important. Stretch flat on your back, stretch eyelids over your eyes and stretch a blanket over your body.

Due to COVID-19, Tocumwal Local Health Advisory Committee had to cancel its last meeting, which was due in late April.
Tocumwal LHAC will have to do the same for the May meeting.
There will not be a meeting until members can meet face to face in their usual venue, which it seems may be a possibility in June/July depending on a change in social distancing rules.
The two MLHD LHAC forums for this year have also been cancelled
