Mr Mitchell currently resides in New York, but developed deep ties with the Southern Riverina region while growing up in Wagga Wagga.
He is a personal friend of the Tuppal's publicans Michelle and Greg Brain, and has been working with them to bring the murals of Finley stars Shane Crawford and the band members of Spiderbait to life.
He has previously delivered murals at Boomerang Motors (in collaborattion with Luke Vineberg) and a ram mural outside the Tuppal on Pinnuck St.
The Brains pride themselves on being a community pub and want to reflect that in their business decisions.
Mrs Brain said it was easy choosing the murals of local heroes when considering how much they've done for the town.
“We chose (Shane) Crawford because he is a Finley boy and a gentleman and very supportive of Finley people and businesses, he is a champion bloke,” she said.
“We chose Spiderbait because they are all local and they all visit regularly.
“They are champions in our eyes showing the kids of our town that if you try you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
“We are a local family supporting local family, we are proud to be a family pub.”
Located inside the pool room, five hours of work has already gone in to the yet to be completed two-wall mural of the local celebrities.
“I've been working closely with Michelle and Greg to bring to life their vision and mine, the beauty of spray painting is there is a lot of freedom for error, you can try things and if they don't workout, you can spray over them,” Mr Mitchell said.
“I'm back in Australia for a wedding so I'll head to Wangaratta to see my sister, attend the wedding then be back in early April to finish off the Spiderbait and Boomerang Motors mural.
“It usually takes a little longer when painting hometown heroes like these as a lot of people know them from all different walks of life, so you need to make sure you get them right.”
