Last week’s winner, Rosemary McCaw, was surprised at her luck for winning the voucher, especially when she laughed about her ticket being the winning one.
‘‘I never have any luck with these things so it was quite a surprise when I got the call that I had won,’’ Mrs McCaw said.
‘‘When I originally dropped off the ticket I said ‘That’s the winning ticket’.
‘‘So when I went to pick up the voucher I said ‘I told you so’.’’
Although Mrs McCaw is excited to spend her prize, she said she has to decide where first; and it’s a challenge that is proving to be more difficult than first expected.
‘‘There are such a variety of places I could spend it, but I haven’t yet made up my mind.’’ This week’s winner was two year-old Hallie Midson, who was enjoying using the Southern Riverina News as a colouring book after her parents finished reading it.
Hallie and her cousin Isaiah Gowans, who is six, noticed the competition and wanted to enter.
Hallie’s mother Kylie Midson filled out the details, but considers it a team win and is expecting to share the spoils.
‘‘I was really surprised to get the call on Monday,’’ she said.
‘‘The kids are going to be very thrilled when they find out.
‘‘I think because it was Isaiah’s idea but Hallie’s winning ticket, we will have to share it around.’’
