Finley’s A grade battled hard to claim a thrilling two-goal win over Tongala in round 10 of the Murray League on Saturday.

It was fantastic and hard fought game right to the final whistle with Wynta Brain and Savannah Wilson doing a great job in defence.
Milly Op’t Hoog slotted into the team beautifully playing well at WD.
Shania Bentley played one of her best games of the year in goals and Holly Robinson switched to the attack end this week and had a cracking game in WA

It was another competitive match for the B grade Cats, going down by nine goals.
Piper Doyle and Micaelie Price stepped up from the Under 17s and did a great job.
Emma Hurlston was a workhorse down back and her voice and support for the girls at the breaks was immeasurable.
Bridget Tegart stepped up from C grade and did an awesome job in defence with Emma.
Andrea Sneddon also had one of her best games for the year in goals.

Finley struggled against the Blues in C grade, suffering a 44 goal defeat.
After the first quarter the Cats thought they might have been in with a chance only being five goals down, but Tongala put their foot down with Finley unable match it with the well drilled team.
Evergreen Kirsty Clarke had another great game in the centre with Vanessa Geeves having an outstanding game in attack. Jess Congram shot well in the goals but really starred when changed to GK.

The Blues U17s proved too strong for the Cats, with the latter beaten by 33 goals.
It was always going to be a tough game against the third placed Tongal, but the Cats put in four quarters with some memorable plays throughout the game.
Niamh Mason played strong in WA backing up the defenders bringing the ball down the court and Elle Rochford showed her versatility playing in C and as WD.
Micaelie Price combined well with both Sarah Orro and Piper Doyle as her shooting partners getting many of her goals in the first quarter.
Isabel Alexander played well as GK, standing tall, jumping for rebounds and worked hard to keep the shooter out of the ring.
Charlie Mason took the court and had a mission to rattle the shooters, keeping close and bringing her defensive game which she did well.
Bella Kelly and Charlie shared the GD position,working hard to step up to the opposition and make them work hard to get a goal.
Lucy-Jayne Burdon played WD and GK where she assisted the defence to bring down the ball to the attackers and defended well in the ring.
Shianne Mason played both attack, WA , C and defence WD, where she ran the court weaving in and around players assisting where she was able to.

It was a big loss for the U15s this week, downed by 34 goals.
To Finley’s credit they never gave up against a much stronger and well drilled Tongala side.

It was Tongala’s U13s that stood tall in a much anticipated top of the table clash, with the Cats beaten by 14 goals.
The Blues proved to be too tough on the day for the injury plagued Cats and took command early on in the game.
Sarah Bauer continued her impressive form in defence while Sienna Burke demonstrated her versatility at both ends of the court.

Another great team effort by the U11s Kittens saw defenders Matilda Kelly, Imogen Nash and Lilly McNamara wor tirelessly making it hard for the Tongala shooters.
The midcourt players Remi Pyle, Lexi Armstrong and Zahlia Lawler worked hard through the centre helping bring the ball down to the shooters.
Addison Clarke, Paige Gray and Charlotte Fleming proved too accurate for their opposition players.
Final score, Finley 16 to Tongala 4. Awards went to the entire team.
