Ray Wood is the Finley Bowling Club Veteran Singles Champion for 2018/19 after defeating club champion Bob Poore in the grand final.
The Burton family at Tura Beach, but formerly of Finley, have had a wonderful season.
Graham won the District President’s Singles, held at Bega; Grant and Graham won their Club Championship pairs and Leigh is now the Club Champion.
The Round Robin inter-club contest will start next week with Finley travelling to Berrigan with three teams for three bowl triples.
The event will start at 10am with two games played before lunch and one played after lunch. Clubs involved are Berrigan, Tocumwal, Oaklands and Finley with games to be held each fortnight.
Bowls will be held at the club, as usual, on Sunday morning, with entries closing at 9.30am.
Sunday morning bowls this week was won by Geoff Trevorrow and Gordon Haines, with +22 shots. Lucky draws went to Ash with Ray Wood and Gordon with Geoff.
The fundraising evening this month is for the Finley Pony Club. All members and their parents are urged to attend. The Pony Club is an important part of the Finley Show and has had great success with contests at regional centres. An invitation is extended to them also.

The Poore Bob Pairs event has been cancelled due to weather conditions. It will be programmed for a new date.
