Tocumwal senior footy

By Southern Riverina News

After a good performance the week before against quality opposition, confidence was high when Tocumwal travelled to Deniliquin to take on the Rovers.

However from the outset it appeared the Bloods had not come out to play. An opening goal from the Rovers in the first 10 seconds set the tone for the first quarter and the Bloods could offer very little in reply.

Injuries didn’t help Tocumwal with Glenn Braybon copping one in the ribs and onballer Trent Boglis getting a knock in the head. Both played very little part in the game after half time.

Luke Congram made his debut for the Bloods and with two goals and countless contested marks was clearly his side’s best player.

Connor Crowley, who has been an outstanding player in the thirds, made his senior debut and acquitted himself well.

It blew out in the end and the senior side will need to dig deep in the coming weeks to get some belief and confidence in themselves.
