Finley’s A grade fought hard against a strong Moama side, but were simply no match for the Magpies in a 26 goal loss on Saturday.

The reigning premiers took full control on their home court to continue their unbeaten start to the Murray League season, with the Cats sitting at a 3-3 win-loss record.
Finley’s Ruby Russell had her best game for the year in goals and Savannah Wilson continued her consistent form taking plenty of intercepts in defence.
Final score, Moama 62 to Finley 36.

The B grade Cats tried hard but were simply outclassed by Moama.
Emma Hurlston was magnificent in defence as was Wynta Brain, who continues to improve every week.

The scoreline this week didn’t reflect the competitive nature of the C grade game.
With some positional changes again this week the Cats were good in passages of play but unfortunately too many turnovers saw the score blow out.
There were many positives, the biggest being Karen Donkin taking on the centre bib for the full four quarters.
Donkin proved that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, using her exceptional netball knowledge and playing a great attacking game in the position.
Attacking shooter Alex Russell also starred, playing out the game while being unwell, showing great determination to finish it off.
Final score, Moama 52 to Finley 22.

The Under 17s began the game putting into practice what they did in training getting many turnovers and proving that they can be a competitive side.
Piper Doyle was shooting goals from anywhere in the ring, managing 14 goals, aptly assisted in the ring by Micaelie Price with Sarah Haynes and Sarah Orro feeding the ball in beautifully to see scores level at quarter time.
The second quarter saw Niamh Mason take over as WA demonstrating how to front cut your player well, making leads and assisting the defenders to bring the ball down to the goalies.
Charlie Mason and Isabella Kelly combined well as GK and GD and had their work cut out against some very physical players.
They got many rebounds between them which saw the Cats only down by two at half time.
During the second half Lucy-Jayne Burdon played WD and GK and was able to block well against a much taller opponent.
Sarah Haynes played a strong game as centre for four quarters with some crucial turnovers and great intercepts to receive the canteen award.
Final score, Moama 34 to Finley 20.

Under 15s: Playing Moama at their home ground was always going to be a tough game for the U15s Cats.
Morgan Evans was again strong all over the court playing in different positions.
She never gave up and her encouragement and positive attitude towards her team was what earned her best on court.
Final score, Moama 31 def Finley 11.

From first quarter to last, the U13s Cats worked extra hard to get over the line.
Finley’s hard trainings are really paying off with great plays and pressure all the way down the court.

Another great game from the U11s saw the Cats work hard all game on coming forward, concentrating on footwork and passing.
Paige Gray had excellent defensive work while Charlotte Fleming played well in her first game in shooting. Lexi Armstrong also showed determination across the court.
Final score, Moama 6 to Finley 3.
