Ensuring your health and wellbeing is in check this winter will be all catered for with the return of Feel Good in Finley Expo.
Hosted at the Finley RSC on Sunday, June 23 the theme is ‘winter health and happiness — community in drought’ and caters for families and children.
In keeping with the two previous events, attendees will have the opportunity to gaze and explore some great products from the stall holders.
These include beauty products, natural cleaning products, wellness coach, skin care, reiki, crystals, dance, fitness and tai chi.
There will be children’s activities upstairs at the Finley RSC including movies and kids yoga — all for free.
Feel Good in Finley committee member Sue Hill said there will also be information provided by local doctors around the right vaccinations for your children.
‘‘The health services in Finley are passionate about vaccinations and winter health,’’ Ms Hill said.
‘‘They would like to inform young families about what is available for children to avoid the measles, mumps, chicken pox as well as the flu shot.
‘‘Many families might not know but they can get a flu shot for free for those under five years-old.’’
The Feel Good in Finley received a $10,000 grant from the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network to help host the event.
The funding will also be shared between the October Feel Good in Finley Expo, plus a Mad Science Food Program with Finley Public and St Joseph’s schools in August.
‘‘We’re going with a different theme for each Feel Good in Finley Expo,’’ Ms Hill said.
‘‘The October event will be targeted more around general health for all ages.
‘‘We felt because there are so many young families around the district it would be appropriate to have a more family themed event.
‘‘An example is a healthy cooking demonstration, which is about how you can save money and eat healthy on a budget.’’
To complement the expo, the Finley RSC will provide live entertainment.
The expo runs from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, June 23, Entry is $5.
