About 1000 people made their way through the gates at the Finley Showgrounds to spend a night partying and enjoying some great music.
Hosted by the Finley Apex Club, the event is also a huge fundraiser for the club and community.
Apex president Lachlan Kerr said more than $50,000 has been raised.
‘‘That money will go back into the community,’’ he said.
Entertaining the crowd was the the Iain Archibald Band, Troy Kemp and Emily Hatton, and the proposal.
‘‘The bloke contacted us before the event letting us know what was going on; they weren’t locals,’’ Mr Kerr said.
‘‘About halfway through the night, he got up and made the announcement and she said ‘yes’.
‘‘The funny thing was, the couple met at the Finley B&S about two years ago and he decided to be really romantic and propose again here in Finley.
‘‘Everyone loved it; certainly one of best highlights we’ve seen in years.
‘‘Overall the entertainment was really good particularly as it was the first time we had all of those bands,’’ Mr Kerr said.
Helping out the Apex Club was about 50 volunteers from various local community groups.
‘‘Thank you to everyone who put their hand up to set up, pack up or work on the night. Without the town support we wouldn’t be able to put on such a great event,’’ Mr Kerr said.
Police said the crowd was well behaved and there were no major incidents to report.
