Young crime solvers

Year 6 students from Berrigan, Finley, Jerilderie, Blighty, Tocumwal and Barooga schools attended a special Forensics Day at Finley High School last week.

The students took part in a hands-on investigation, observing and analysing of evidence to solve a mock crime.

They were split in to smaller groups to work in the science laboratories, under the guidance of Year 10 students.

The older students helped the visitors to take fingerprints and dust and lift fingerprints from an object.

They also used some simple chemistry to identify an unknown powder.
