Toy run set for Gannawarra

By Riverine Herald

THE GANNAWARRA Memorial Toy Run (pictured) is a staple in the diaries for many motorcyclists and drivers around the region.

The date is set for November 24 and participants will travel from Leitchville to Cohuna via Kerang and Barham.

The event is designed to bring members of the community together and gather as many toys as possible to be donated to the local churches for distribution across the Gannawarra Shire.

Cohuna Uniting Church, Cohuna-Kerang Anglican Church and the Lighthouse Church are joining forces to gather the toys which will help make up hampers for local families.

Motorcyclists will leave the Leitchville CFA at 7:30am and head to Kerang for breakfast. Drivers will join the convoy at Kerang before all participants head to Barham for morning tea. Lunch will be waiting for everyone in Cohuna at the conclusion of the event and a Show & Shine will be open to the public here.

The $20 participation fee will also get you a ticket into the major raffle draw for either two nights accommodation for four people at Golden Rivers Holiday Accommodation or a V8 experience with hot laps at Winton Raceway.

Donations of toys, gift cards and cash are being taken, but please note only new toys can be accepted. For any enquiries and toy drop off information in Cohuna, please contact John Webb on 0409 996 512 or Jeff Bray on 0499 990 431 for Barham and Koondrook information.
