The Bush Cats announced this afternoon that Hawthorn premiership player, Brownlow medalist and Finley local Shane Crawford will coach the side next season if their appeal to AFL Goulburn Murray to allow them to play in the Kyabram District League is successful.
"The committee of Ardmona Football Netball Club are pleased to announce that AFL legend and Brownlow medalist Shane Crawford has been appointed to the role (of) senior coach, pending our appeal decision," the club said.
"Shane brings a wealth of experience and success on and off the field. His strong leadership skills and focus on building the right foundations for the club will return Ardmona FNC to glory days once again.
"We are very excited to welcome Shane to our Bush Cats family."
The Finley product was in the Goulburn Valley recently to headline a local fundraiser, getting his hands dirty shearing sheep in the process.
Ardmona also stated that it was attempting to hold off on the announcement until the appeal process had been completed, but felt the appointment had already leaked.
