Applications for the 2018 Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program are now open, with leaders from all walks of life encouraged to apply for the 10-month program.
Through 26 contact days, individuals will be introduced to regional issues and innovative ideas for actions while expanding their current networks and impact.
Employers are also encouraged to consider supporting an employee to apply and participate in this personal and professional development opportunity.
Mandalay Resources geologist Josh Greene, who was one of the participants in this year’s program, said it was a ‘‘defining journey’’ in his life.
‘‘The exposure to community, government and business leaders across all facets of society has allowed for the exploration of self, belief and internal strength,’’ Mr Greene said.
‘‘The workshops and learning through story and experience has built capacity in my own relationship with others and heightened my own brand of leadership in striving to encourage and enable others.’’
Each year up to 25 participants are accepted into the program with the aim of reflecting the diversity of the communities living and working within the region.
A number of scholarship places are available to allow individuals to participate in the program at no cost, including scholarships for people involved in the dairy industry or dairying communities, the natural resource management sector and indigenous people.
