A truck trailer rollover at the Deniliquin Rd intersection of the Newell Highway at Finley impeded traffic for at least three hours on Monday morning.

A truck trailer rollover at the Deniliquin Rd intersection of the Newell Highway at Finley impeded traffic for at least three hours on Monday morning.

The trailer towing a boom lift rolled when the driver attempted to turn right from the highway onto Deniliquin Rd about 9.30am.

Finley Fire and Rescue captain Brian O’Hora, Berrigan Shire staff, Roads and Maritime Services and emergency services responded to the incident. It took more than three hours for the road to be completely cleared.

‘‘The company that owns the truck arranged for a crane to come from Cobram to lift it back up,’’ Capt O’Hora said.

‘‘Once the crane arrived it took a further hour to get it upright.’’

Capt O’Hora said he did not believe speed was a factor in the incident.

‘‘If he was speeding the trailer would have rolled further, probably on its back,’’ Capt O’Hora said.

‘‘We believe it was a mechanical failure on the truck.

‘‘There wasn’t too much damage to the truck, however it does look as though the boom lift has suffered quite a bit of damage.

‘‘The driver wasn’t injured, however he was visibly stressed about the incident.’’
