Tocumwal’s winning run in the Picola and District Netball League continued on Saturday, but it took a thrilling one-goal win against Katunga to do so.

The match-up delivered as expected, as two of the competition’s powers traded blows, with the Bloods able to absorb the pressure and take the win.

It was a slow start to the game for the Bloods which saw them playing catch-up all game.

Some changes on the court saw the Bloods come out firing in the second half and coming away with a nail-biting one-goal win.

Leisa Desailly worked well in defence alongside Leah Pate, who had a phenomenal game in her 200th for the club.

With Blighty having the bye, it took Tocumwal to the top of the A grade table, having reeled off six straight wins after a round two loss.

For Katunga, it was a third loss of the season, adding to defeats against Blighty and Waaia to leave it sixth on the ladder.

Final score, Tocumwal 44 to Katunga 43.
