Angus, Abbey top Anzac essay comp.

Members of the Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary will hold their fashion showing of Blumes autumn/winter styles in the Community Centre tomorrow morning.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Entry will be $5, with a lucky door prize and a raffle. Morning tea at 10am, followed by the entertainment.

St Joseph’s School started the second term with the promise of many activities coming up.

One exciting piece of news from the holidays was the engagement of principal Nick Braybon.

Congratulations to Nick and his fiancée, Jemma Flanigan.

The school community will be sorry to farewell one of their teachers, Miss Laura Walliss, later in the term as she travels overseas for further adventures.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, St Joseph’s will be holding a special afternoon tea for mothers, grandmothers and special friends on Monday, May 14 at 2pm in the classroom.

Members of St Joseph’s School community assisted at the recent wedding reception of Elisha Conn and Josh McBride. Congratulations to Elisha and Josh, who were married on April 2l.

Ms Nyree Taylor has taken up the reins again at Jerilderie Public School from the start of term two and is looking forward to renewing involvement with the school community.

Year 3-6 students are continuing their ukulele lessons with South West Music tutor Chris Bodey, and today Year 5/6 students, with Mrs Browning, will be attending one of the 2018 Riverina Debating Days in Griffith. They will be coached by experts in the finer points of debating.

Jerilderie Netball Club will be hosting a Pink Day afternoon tea at the home game at Monash Park this Saturday.

For $10 a plate you can have some delightful goodies and a cuppa, with proceeds going to breast cancer research. You might like to wear a touch of pink as well.

Your correspondent has returned from a lovely week’s holiday in the very green island state of Tasmania, with her daughter, Helene.
