Candidates contesting the Murray Irrigation Limited board shareholder director elections are expected to be announced this Friday.
The company has said the so far undisclosed number of nominees come from a range of backgrounds and represent a good cross-section of enterprises across the footprint.
Accepted candidates will be made public after the company conducts standard ASIC checks such as bankruptcy, director eligibility, criminal record and other routine due diligence measures.
Candidates will also be briefed on their roles and responsibilities as a director and sign up to the Directors’ Code of Conduct.
Murray Irrigation will conduct a ballot to fill three of the five member director positions on the company’s restructured board.
The remaining shareholder director positions will be retained by Phil Snowden and Waander Van Beek.
The ballot will open on April 27 and close on May 28.
The membership of the board, which is expected to be finalised in June, will comprise five member directors and three independent directors.
