Easter revellers were given a show over the skies of Tocumwal at the weekend, with the Victorian Aerobatic Championships coinciding with the Murray Border Flying Club’s regular ‘First Sunday of the Month Breakfast’ for April.
As promised it was another big affair. The championships ran from Good Friday to Easter Sunday, with practice starting early on Thursday.
The whine of aerobatic engines stirred the corellas around the aerodrome, with the main days of competition on Saturday and Sunday.
Among the competitors was Australian National Aerobatics Champion Paul Andronicou, who flew in the latest Extra 300 SE aircraft.
Light lunches were provided by the Tocumwal Anglican Ladies Guild at a modest cost and were available during the championships on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
On Saturday the Murray Border Flying Club provided a barbecue dinner, and on Sunday it provided a roast dinner at the presentation night.
