School’s back, swim lessons start

February 08, 2018

The swimming program started at Sacred Heart school on Monday and will run for two weeks.

The kids will be swimming each day between 11am and 12pm.

If you’re available to help out please contact the office, as any help will be appreciated.

Parents of participating children are reminded their children will need swimming gear and towel in a separate bag.

It’s all handy practice for the swimming carnival, which will be held on Friday, February 16.

Sacred Heart welcomes all new students and and ongoing students back for another great year.

Tocumwal Public School is also preparing for its swimming carnival with swimming lessons.

They start Monday, February 12 and end with the carnival on Friday, February 23.

A permission note will be sent home to parents with more information, and should be returned by the 12th.

Please note, the 5-7 year olds will not be competing in the swimming carnival, as they will be having their own program towards the end of the year.

Toc Primary’s student representative council and house captains for this year will be announced during assembly this Friday at 2.30pm.

As it’s the start of a new year the school asks if your details have changed at all — like a change of address or phone numbers. If so, please inform the office as soon as possible.

Pre-season for the football and netball club is well on its way and looking good for the coming season.

If you’d like to get amongst it there is always room for more players or assistance.

The footballers train on Monday and Wednesday at 6pm and the netballers train Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm.

Next week there will be lots of love in the air at the Tocumwal Golf & Bowls Club on Wednesday, February 14.

Book in at reception for you and your lover for a beautiful three course meal, and complementary chocolates for the ladies, to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

It’s $45 per person, book now to avoid missing out.

This week in Tocumwal, we were all finally able to find a park in the main street again as the tourists have mostly headed back home after a crazy holiday season.

I’m sure we’ll see them all soon enough with Easter approaching fast.
