Finley High School Timor Leste Immersion Program will start its 2018 fundraising efforts with a mud run on Saturday.

Hosted at the Finley Showgrounds and Sporting Complex, it is expected to be full of fun obstacles.

All money raised will go towards Immersion Program students to cover expenses when they visit East Timor in April.

Immersion Program student Eloise Ashley-Cooper said Saturday morning promises to have plenty of ‘‘thrills and spills’’.

‘‘It’s all about having fun and giving it a go,’’ she said.

‘‘The course has been developed in conjunction with the pony club.

‘‘There will be a few water jumps, a slip ‘n’ slide and jumping over hay bales.

‘‘We encourage everyone to get down and dirty in the mud.’’

The Immersion Program students have already raised more than $20,000 for their 10-day trip. It is held every two years, when Finley High School sends a group of students to East Timor experience life in a developing nation.

If the mud run is successful it will be the last fundraiser required before the trip.

Mud Run entry is $25.25 for adults and children over 12 and $16.60 for children aged 6 to 11, with five and under free.

A family ticket, for two adults and two children and only available on the day, is $60.

Tickets can be pre-purchased through the Finley Mud Run Facebook page.
