More than 300 cars were polished, dusted, vacuumed and polished again to look their best at the Berrigan Show ‘n’ Shine on Sunday.
The cars lined the Berrigan Golf Club greens, with well known classics from Ford, Holden, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Valiant and Jaguars among those on display.
Attendees were able to discover some transporting history of the region with an impressive display of trucks, and there were also more than 100 motorbikes including Kawasakis, Harley Davidsons and Hondas.
The event drew car lovers from across the district including Deniliquin, Yarrawonga, Shepparton and Melbourne.
Event organiser Steve Malcolm said it was the best year yet for the Show ‘n’ Shine.
‘‘It was a fantastic event, and what a way to start of the Berrigan events calendar,’’ he said.
‘‘The cars, trucks and bikes all looked in top condition. There were a lot of high quality vehicles and a whole mix of old, new, custom and original cars.
‘‘The feedback has been all positive, and we’re hearing people want to come back next year with even more cars.
‘‘We encourage cars clubs and owners to continue to participate. We hope the event will get even bigger next year in both car displays and attendees.’’
Awards were given out to owners of the top 15 cars and bikes, and the top five vintage trucks.
In addition to the car displays, helicopter rides were provided for spectators, and there was also a farmers’ market, trade sites and swap meet to keep the entire family entertained.
Mr Malcolm said the event was a success because of ‘‘the sponsors, the very hard working volunteers, our dedicated committee, club staff, car fans, car clubs and the general public who attended’’.
