Jacinta Tooke was the only Finley Christmas Shopping Bonanza major prize winner to double their voucher money at the promotion’s conclusion last week.
Three major prizes were drawn as part of the FinCity Xmas Xtravaganza evening at Finley’s Railway Park on Wednesday night.
Because she was at the event when her name was drawn, Mrs Tooke’s $250 shopping voucher was doubled to a $500 prize.
‘‘I was just sitting back not really thinking about it, then my name was called out,’’ Mrs Tooke said.
‘‘At first I was like ‘wow, I just won’, then they said I had won $500 ... I just froze with excitement.
‘‘I never thought I was going to win. You fill out these tickets thinking you’re not going to win, but it proves luck can be on your side.
‘‘I’m looking forward to spending this at my favourite Finley stores.’’
The other major prize winners drawn on the night — Chloe Butterfield from Tocumwal and Marion Ryan from Finley — each claimed $250 in shopping vouchers to be spent at participating stores.
Finley Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture secretary Sue Hill said it was wonderful to see a $500 voucher winner on the night of the Xmas Xtravaganza.
The Finley Christmas Shopping Bonanza is a Chamber promotion designed to promote Finley businesses and reward people who spend their money locally in the lead up to Christmas. Shoppers received entry tickets when they made purchases at participating stores.
With a total prizepool of $3000, the shopping promotion also saw 15 weekly winners claim $100 vouchers over five weeks.
The promotion is proudly supported by the Southern Riverina News.
