It was a fashionable afternoon on Thursday for the first major event hosted by the Tocumwal Optimists.
More than 80 ladies attended the spring luncheon at the Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club.
It made a spectacular scene with lots of high fashion, fascinators and stunning table settings all on display.
Optimists president Anne Pyle said it was a ‘‘very nice afternoon’’ for those in attendance.
‘‘The setting was amazing and everyone embraced the event and had a great time.
‘‘We had visitors from Berrigan, Finley and Cobram.
‘‘The tables were dressed beautifully with black tablecloths and pink bird cages; it was stunning.
‘‘The backdrop of the golf course was lovely and I think that’s what helped make it a wonderful day.’’
This was the first event hosted by the Tocumwal Optimists since disbanding as the Soroptimists in February this year.
‘‘It was very successful for our first big event,’’ Ms Pyle said.
Guest speaker Jane Derrick discussed some of the moving wedding vows she’s come across during her time as a civil celebrant.
Winner of the raffle was Joy Scott — who won a garden cart — and Leslie Moore was announced as the Lady of the Day.
‘‘Leslie won because she found such a clever way to combine simplicity with a stunning accessory,’’ Mrs Pyle said.
All funds raised from the day will be returned to the community throughout 2018.
The next Optimist event will be on Friday at the Tocumwal Memorial Hall for its Shabby Chic Art Show starting at 6pm.
