Cancer fundraiser barbecue

Dawmac will be hosting a barbecue for the McGrath Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness from 12pm to 2pm on October 20.

The barbecue will raise vital funds for the McGrath Foundation to help place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and to increase breast awareness in young Australian women.

All proceeds go to the McGrath Foundation so please come along and support this worthy cause.

The community was saddened to hear of the passing of Jim Nettley who passed away in Tasmania.

Jim worked at Howard Martin’s for many years.

Sympathy is extended to his wife Marg and daughter Susan.

The community was also saddened to hear of the passing of Mary Burley, in Shepparton.

Mary will be fondly remembered as a resident of Berrigan for many years and we extend our sympathy to the Burley family.

Birthday wishes are extended to Pam Hunt who celebrated with family and friends at the Community Club last Saturday night. Happy Birthday, Pam.

This Saturday will see the opening of the cricket season with A Reserve kicking off the year.

B Grade will start their season the Saturday after.

Training will be Tuesday and Thursdays from 5.30pm. All welcome.

The under 12s will start training on Thursday, October 12 from 3.30pm.

The Berrigan Cup is fast approaching and the committee is always looking for staff with a responsible service of alcohol qualification to work on the day.

George Batten attended the presentation night of Numurkah Indoor Bowls Association recently.

He played in the Men’s Championships in July representing Barooga.

Barooga Indoor Bowls club will host their presentation night in late November.
