In a year where the Finley Wildcats made their first grand final, more history was made with Eloise Ashley-Cooper and Paige Nash named joint winners of the club’s best and fairest.
The duo both managed to poll an impressive 18 votes to share the prize at the Wildcats’ presentation night held at the Finley Apex Sports and Community Centre earlier this month.
In an interesting turn of events there were also joint runners-up in the count with Ruby Stewart and Elle Brooks both polling five votes.
The Leading Goal Kicker award was also shared with Rhiannon Murphy-Riddell and Olivia Cicolini both kicking 10 goals in the home and away season to claim the trophy.
Other award winners from the night were as follows: Most Courageous - Olivia Cicolini, Best Team Player - Lauren Clarke, Best in Finals - Eloise Ashley-Cooper, Most Improved - Lucy-Jayne Burdon, Coach’s Award - Olivia Wells.
It’s been a fantastic year for the Wildcats with thanks being made to Brian Hill, Warwick Douglas, Terri-Lea Anderson, coach Jorja Daniel, assistant coach/runner Cameron Isedale and manager Tanya Clarke for all their hard work.
The Wildcats would like to thank the Finley Football Netball Club for their financial help, use of their facilities and use of their equipment.
Announced on the night was Jodie Cicolini joining as the new team manager for the 2018 season.
New players for next year are most welcome, with girls aged 13-18 years available to join.
