Tocumwal A grade is chasing a three-peat of premierships in Saturday’s Picola League grand final to be played at Blighty.
The Bloods are up against the same opposition from the past two deciders, Deniliquin Rovers.
Although undefeated through the regular season, Tocumwal coach Kate Bird says they aren’t taking anything for granted.
‘‘Grand finals are a totally different game ... anything can happen. If we stick to our game plan and concentrate we’ll beat our opponent,’’ Bird said.
Going into the decider undefeated is something Bird is wary of.
‘‘The Deni Rovers were undefeated going into the 2015 grand final, and now we’re undefeated.
‘‘When we’ve played them this year they’ve jumped us early in the first quarter of both matches.
‘‘But we did beat them comfortably in the preliminary final.’’
The A grade match starts about 2pm.
Tocumwal’s Under-15s will also be playing at Blighty on Saturday, at 9.45am.
The club’s dominant fourths team are also contesting the decider, starting about 9am.
