Finley High School’s Timor-Leste Immersion Program students are hosting another major fundraiser this month — a Town Garage Sale in Jerilderie on September 16.

Proceeds from the $30 site fee will be donated to the East Timor town of Luro when local students visit there in April next year.

Some items have also been donated and will be sold to raise additional funds for the program.

Town Garage Sale organiser Janine A’Vard, whose son Mitch A’Vard will participate in the trip, said there has been plenty of interest from local residents.

‘‘We have 10 households who will be selling all sorts of products, including one very generous family who are donating an entire household of furniture to the fundraising,’’ Mrs A’Vard said.

‘‘Hopefully we can raise $500 to $600 for the students.’’

The money raised from the sale will help fund community projects in Luro.
