On Tuesday, August 15 it will be 121 years since the opening of the Berrigan Coffee Palace, and the author of a book based on the establishment, Adele Ogier Jones, will speak locally about her work on that same day.
Berrigan Library invites you all to join for an evening with Adele from 6pm-8pm.
The program for the evening will be soup and sandwiches on arrival followed by Adele’s talk and then a chat with the author over coffee and cake.
Tickets are available at Berrigan Library, and the cost is $15 per person.
Refreshments will be provided by the Timor-Leste Experience 2018 students who are raising funds to take much needed medical supplies to the country.
This Sunday the Berrigan Bowls Club will be having a 2-4-2 bowls day (draw for partners).
The afternoon will start at 1.30pm and finish at 3.30pm with soup.
The last afternoon of social bowls was a great success so the club looks forward to seeing you there again.
The Berrigan Cricket Club held a special AGM last Wednesday to rally support and elect a new committee.
A new committee was elected and the executive are as follows:
President - Cody Heazlewood; vice president - Marianne Whelan; secretary - Bec Ware; treasurer - Damien Taylor.
A number of people also put their hand up to be on the committee.
New president Cody Heazlewood was very pleased with the outcome and is looking forward to working with everyone to have a successful year.
The community will be kept up to date about cricket news, training times and teams, and social functions.
For the opportunity to participate in an hour of healthy activity, be it in the gym or the gentle exercise of hydrotherapy, the Berrigan Community Health runs a bus each Tuesday to the Barooga Aquatic Centre heated pool, leaving from the Madill Centre at 8.45am.

This Sunday the Berrigan Football Club will be having the 100 Club afternoon.
Tickets are available for $100 which includes lunch, beer and wine from noon till 3pm and a chance to win $3000 (last ticket drawn out), $1000 (second last ticket drawn out) and $500 (third last ticket drawn out).
First ticket drawn out wins $100 and every tenth ticket drawn out wins a meat tray.
You can buy one ticket between two people or buy your own ticket.
