Tocumwal belted a hapless Yarroweyah by 133 points in round 16 of the Picola League on Saturday.

The win away from home cemented the Bloods’ spot in the finals, now sitting three wins clear of sixth with only two rounds to go.

Six Bloods players kicked three or more goals in the demolition of the Hoppers.

Playing coach Sean Logie led the way kicking five majors, thirds player Mitch Rielly, Greg Whelan and Nick Bacchetto each kicked four while Max Brooks and Dylan Flanagan kicked three each.

Jacob Hore (one goal) was Tocumwal’s best, with Oliver Rennie, Zeke Flanagan and Daniel Parmley also performing well.

Yarroweyah playing coach Paul Massingham was his side’s best while Andrew Jones kicked two of the Hoppers’ four goals.

Final score, Tocumwal 25.17 (167) to Yarroweyah 4.10 (34).

Coming up against an undermanned Yarroweyah, four thirds players got the opportunity to pull on the boots for the Tocumwal seniors.

It was a strong start for Reilly booting all four of his goals in the first quarter goals for the Bloods, kicking with a strong breeze leading to an 11 goal to nil first quarter.

Tocumwal extended their lead in the second term, scoring 2.4 to 1.4 despite going against the breeze.

To the Hoppers’ credit they held the Bloods to three goals in the third term.

Tocumwal came out firing in the last with a real team effort, piling on another nine majors to record the massive win.

The Bloods will host a desperate Deni Rovers side on Saturday, with the visitors needing a win to stay in finals contention.

The match is shaping up to be an absolute thriller, with the last match between the two sides decided by two points, in favour of Tocumwal.
