The annual meeting for the election of a new board for 2017/2018 was held last Wednesday.
The new office bearers are: President - Laurie Walsh; vice-president - Graeme Close; secretary - Sheila Walsh; treasurer - John Montgomery; bowls secretary - Heather Tabe; directors - Ray Wood, Bob Poore, Tim Hansford and Steve Diggerson.
The financial report will be presented in the near future.
The accumulator attracted 18 players on Sunday.
The winning combination was Heather Tabe and Graham Chubb with an ends won margin over Betty Robinson and Ron Pentland.
The sixth round of the accumulator will continue on Sunday. This event is open to all club bowlers and an invitation is issued to bowlers from neighbouring clubs to join in. The players’ best five scores will be considered for the final trophy. Every day is a contest in itself with the usual prizemoney and lucky tickets. Names by 9.30am for a 10.30am start.
Fourteen players contested for honours on Thursday with the winning combination being Ron Ameer (RS), Ray Koschel and Marie Koschel with 2+15.
Runners-up were Di Retallick and Karen Peacock (RS) with 2+13.
Bowls on Thursday is the normal day for social bowls and starts at 1pm.
Visitors are welcome to join in for the afternoon with steak tray raffles held at 6pm.
Friday night’s fundraiser evening was successful with Kurrajong organisation receiving $900. This group has received over $6,000 since these evenings commenced.
A revenue raising evening will be held on Friday to give support to Luke Bramley, who is part of the Combined Football Memorial Tour to play football in England, Ireland and France.
The Finley community is urged to support this special evening. Meals are available from 6pm.
Members are reminded that meals are also available on Thursday evenings from 6pm for a ‘parma menu’.
The members draw of $1000 on Friday evening is still awaiting a lucky member.

Runners-up were Di Retallick and Karen Peacock (RS).
Results on July 25 saw Warren Blanch and Karen Peacock the winners with 45 shots.
Runners-up were Ed Walker and Effie Eaton from Tocumwal with 44 shots.
Fred Vance and Jim Maher were lucky winners of the jackpot.
