Finley’s thirds reaffirmed their finals credentials with a 98 point victory over Barooga at the Cattery on Saturday in the Murray Football League.
A combination of swift, precise ball movement and an appetite for the contest resulted in all Cats players contributing to the win.
Key forwards Dylan Sibraa, Taylor Kleinschmidt and Duncan Clarke controlled the aerial duels and were able to capitalise on the midfield domination of Dan O’Bryan and Zec Cuppens.
At the other end of the ground Luke Bramley led a superb defensive outfit that was well supported on the periphery by Brayden Culhane, Wyatt Gray and Liam Osborne.
Final score, Finley 18.10 (118) to Barooga 3.2 (20).
Finley coach Michael Taylor was able to use the match to make some positional changes and maximise rotations.
The younger members of the team will ultimately be the major beneficiaries of this exercise.
With only four rounds remaining and a finals appearance assured, the trip to Nathalia this week presents yet another opportunity for all players to build on their ever growing confidence.
