Tocumwal is now home to the highly regarded Cydonia Glass Studio, which offers a range of glass art for your home or office space.
Cydonia is the dream of artist Sergio Redegalli whose passion for this unique offering was kindled by the Australian revival of glass art in the seventies and eighties.
‘‘Cydonia plays a significant role in helping clients develop private residences as an extension of their personal identity,’’ Sergio said.
‘‘Cydonia Glass can open the window to the potential of what can be achieved, allowing you to expand your horizons by adding a beauty that is in tune with your desires.
‘‘The architectural trend towards designing large windows in homes signals the human desire for a greater sense of space and connection with the external environment, whilst adding the element of privacy.’’
Cydonia Studio’s creativity covers everything, including awnings, balustrades, benchtops, doors, floors, function ware, lighting, mirrors, showers, signage, skylights, splashbacks, textured glass, vanities and walls.
While studying visual arts and industrial design in high school, Sergio began using perspex for his work.
At university, he progressed to using glass, saying it was ‘‘perfect’’ for his vision in comparison to the ‘‘almost perfect’’ perspex.
