The Finley BC Board of Directors has granted a special event to celebrate, and appreciate, the contribution Elaine and Mick Chaplin have made to bowls at club level and within the Murray Bowls Division over many years, as administrators and players.
Both are life members of the Finley Bowling Club as well as Murray Bowls Division, which is a great achievement.
This event, ‘The Chaplin Pairs’, will be held on Sunday, August 20 — any combination, three games of eight ends, starting at 1pm with prize money of $1,000.
Entries close on August 19. Entries to Heather Tabe or Ray Koschel, as well as the club.
News has been received that Graham Burton, with his sons, Leigh and Grant, have been successful on the bowling green by winning two tournaments recently in the Merimbula Association. This family has played a prominent part in the Tura Beach Club. Well done, team!
The second round of the Bowls Club accumulator on Sunday was won by Nan Smith and Ron Pentland (+8 shots).
Social bowls will continue on Thursday at 1pm and Sunday morning at 10.15am.
The AGM will be held on Wednesday, July 26.
Yallambee will be the beneficiary of the fundraiser on July 28, when all members and the public are invited to attend and support this evening. All funds raised will be used to update facilities and provide equipment. Meals are available from 6pm from ‘Joy’s Kitchen’.
Roster duty: Brian Anderson and Graeme Close.
