Numurkah stormed to the top of the Murray Football League ladder after a huge 186 point win against Finley.

The Blues piled on a whopping 31 goals to give their percentage a welcome boost, helping them move above Nathalia on the table.

Josh Evans bagged another nine majors in the win, with Brad Vassal (four goals), Lucas White (four) and Nick Fothergill (three) among the 12 individual Numurkah players to find the middle of the goals.

Cats’ captain Lachie Small was his side’s best player in the defeat, which was significantly less than the first time these two teams met this year.

Others who had good showings for Finley were Cam Robertson, Nick Lyons, Will Robertson, Zeke Carruthers and David Conrick.

Final score, Numurkah 31.16 (202) to Finley 2.4 (16).

Finley will move on to this week when they go head to head with arch rival Deni Rams in Finley on Saturday.

It will be a tough game for the Cats with the Rams in fantastic form, coming within eight points of reigning premier Nathalia and beating top six side Mulwala the previous week.
