Bruce Atkinson presents Margaret McLeod with her ‘Citizen of Distinction’ award.

Bruce Atkinson has handed over the reins of the Finley Rotary Club to Bert Wulz.

The ceremonious event was held as part of the annual changeover dinner, held at Finley Bowling Club late last month.

Mr Atkinson, in giving his final address as president, thanked Rotary members and the Finley community for their support during his tenure.

In his response, Mr Wulz vowed to uphold the motto ‘Rotary Serving Humanity’.

A special ‘Citizen of Distinction’ award was presented to Margaret McLeod on the night. It was in recognition of her many years of valuable service to the local community, which the club says she is continuing with great distinction.

Berrigan Shire Mayor Matthew Hannan and councillors Dennis Glanville and Colin Jones were guests at the dinner. Rotary Club members were also joined by members of the former Soroptimist Club which went into recess, and volunteers of its Shabby to Chic shop which is now managed by Rotary. Finley Lions Club members, Rotary district executives, and friends of Rotary were also special guests.
