High range drink driving

A 23 year-old Tocumwal man has been charged with high range drink driving.

Police said they stopped a vehicle about 12.30am on Sunday, which was allegedly travelling 70km/h in a 50km/h zone in Kelly St, Tocumwal.

The driver was also allegedly swerving onto the wrong side of the road.

The driver was subjected to a roadside test, which allegedly returned a reading of 0.174.

His driver’s licence was suspended and he will face court at a later date.


A 42 year-old man from Reservoir, Victoria, has been charged with driving an unregistered vehicle and driving while unlicensed.

About 1.40am on Sunday, police allegedly noticed a vehicle swerving while travelling north along the Newell Highway, near Finley.

The man was stopped for a roadside breath test which returned a negative reading, however further checks revealed the man was allegedly unlicensed and his vehicle was not registered.

The vehicle’s plates were removed and seized.

The man will face court at a later date.
