The Finley thirds have continued their impressive mid-season form with a comprehensive 24 point victory over Moama in a grand final re-match at Finley on Saturday.

Capitalising on a gritty performance from Spencer Hawkins in the ruck, the fleet footed onball brigade was able to exert constant pressure on their opponents which resulted in numerous turnovers and subsequent scoring opportunities.

Younger members of the Finley team were identified by the coach as playing pivotal roles in the victory with Harry Johns, Bailey Coombes, Nick Burns, Nick Gray and Marcus Anderson all contributing at various stages.

Brayden Culhane and Taylor Kleinschmidt provided focal points in the offensive half and their efforts complemented the frugal defensive efforts of Luke Bramley and his teammates at the other end of the ground.

The final score line was fair reward for a workman like performance which provides a solid platform on which to build in the second half of the season.

Final score, Finley 8.3 (51) to Moama 4.3 (27).

The win saw Finley draw level with Moama on premiership points for the season so far with the Magpies having a superior percentage in second spot.

The Cats will now move on to face Numurkah in Numurkah on Saturday.
