Debutants star as Bloods remain unbeaten

Tocumwal’s A grade side presented a different line-up against Berrigan on Saturday, with under-15 players Georgia Stoate and Molly Reid making their debuts.

Berrigan couldn’t quite match the Bloods’ quick, strong play.

Scores, Tocumwal 60 defeated Berrigan 40. Awards: Sarah Quick, Gracie Reid and Georgia Stoate.

Tocumwal A grade remain on top of the Picola Netball League’s north-west division ladder.

Toc. B grade also took the points with strong mid-court defence. Scores, Tocumwal 36 to Berrigan 14. Awards: Kristen Petersen, Tam Bate and Venita Bacchetto.

C grade: A close game with the Saints with only a couple of goals separating the two throughout the match. The Bloods managed to maintain their pressure to take the win, 43-40.

Awards: Lynsie Reid, Amanda Reid and Melissa Herezo.

Under-15: Started out slowly in the cold weather, but the girls warmed up and worked beautifully as a team to take the points. Score, Tocumwal 44 def. Berrigan 13. Awards: Alex Hatty, Rose Chamberlain, Lucy Bourchier and Holly Noonan.

With Jane Hatty in defence and Asha Campbell leading the team through the mid-court, Tocumwal had to work hard in a tough game for the under-13s against a Berrigan. In the end, Toc. went down by two goals, 17-19.

Awards: Alana Sutton, Skyla Griffin, Abby O’Connell and Asha Campbell.

The youngest Bloods showed excellent teamwork as they moved the ball smoothly down the court, allowing each player to shine in their respective positions.

Chloe Herezo starred in goals.
