Murray Hut CWA Branch recently held its International Night with the country of study this year being Nepal.
Members hosted Dan Ryan who has undertaken volunteer work in Nepal and two Nepalese mothers and babies who are living and working in Finley.
Dan was accompanied by his mother, Mary-Anne.
Members cooked a fantastic array of Nepalese style food to taste while Dan gave a short talk about Nepal and his volunteer work which the ladies found very interesting.
The Nepalese guests provided a unique insight into life in Nepal, and the babies were delightful.
Everyone enjoyed the food and warm friendship during the evening.
The Berrigan Shire Libraries have another great holiday program planned for the coming school break.
Titled ‘BSC; love where you live’, the program will be held in Finley and Barooga on July 5 and 12 whilst Berrigan and Tocumwal will be held on July 6 and 13 respectively.
All sessions commence at 10.30am. It would be appreciated if an indication of attendance could be made by booking in at your favourite Berrigan Shire Library.
Held in conjunction with the Holiday Program, there will be a special colouring competition conducted with one graphic novel prize per branch being awarded. Entry forms for this are available at all libraries.
A great deal of interest is being shown for the Finley High School’s presentation of their MADDD Night in the school hall tonight.
Doors open at 6.30pm with the show commencing at 7pm.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from the front office of the high school or at the door tonight. Supper is provided and soft drinks will be sold at intermission.
The theme for this year’s performance is ‘Finley High’s Got Talent’ and will involve students performing songs, dance routines, drama skits and more. There is something to suit all ages.
Everyone is invited to go along tonight to see the talent showcased by these young members of our community and encourage them to reach their potential.
Connie Close was the winner of last Saturday’s Finley Lions Club wood raffle.
Connie is one of the many volunteers in Finley who devote time and effort to benefit the community.
Well done, Connie.
