Berrigan St Columba’s School principal Damian Taylor had the chance to see the joy AFL super stars can bring to young children in two different ways last week.

As well as seeing the excitement of his students, Mr Taylor’s own son Harry Taylor got the chance to get up close and personal with some visiting North Melbourne Football Club players.

Lindsay Thomas, Jed Anderson, Declan Watson, Marley Williams, Trent Dumont and Shaun Atley all made the trip to Finley to host the Super Clinic.

It was attended by students from all primary schools across the Southern Riverina.

‘‘From a small school’s perspective it is great to have the opportunity to participate in events like this and to interact with the other local schools,’’ he said.

‘‘As a parent, it is fantastic to see the Australian Football League coming to regional centres and giving back at a grassroots level.’’

Teachers and staff at St Columba’s said students who participated in the event are still talking about it in the classroom and school yard.
