Man hiding cannabis

A Broadmeadows man who was allegedly attempting to hide from police has been charged with drug possession.

Police say they were conducting roadside breath tests near a service station on Deniliquin St, Tocumwal about 11.25am on Saturday when they saw a man who appeared to be trying to hide behind a petrol bowser.

Police say he ran to his car and drove away when he thought police were distracted.

Police followed the man who drove around the block before being stopped back in Deniliquin St.

In a search of his car, police allegedly found a small resealable bag containing cannabis.

He was issued with a notice to appear in Finley Court.

A 63 year-old Mooroopna man has been fined for allegedly trespassing at the Tocumwal Police Station.

Police were patrolling the town when they noticed someone in the fenced off area of the station.

On speaking to the man, police said he claimed to be attempting to find firewood.
