The mixed triples, sponsored by JT & EN Close, was an excellent substitution for a cancelled Easter Carnival.

The triples attracted 16 teams with good representation of clubs, particularly the Finley RS Club.

After three games the winning team comprised of Max Lewis and John and Iris Reynolds, 3 games and 44 points, from runner-up Ophelia Corcoran, Laurie Vinnicombe and Norm Barnes, 3 games and 43 points.

Best last game winner was Gordon Haines, Tracey Miles and Geoff Trevorrow with 13 shots.

President Graeme Close outlined the history of the Close family’s affiliation with the club over three generations and with the encouraging support for the concluded event the club will look towards an extended event next year.

Heather thanked the sponsors for their support as well as greenkeeper Andrew for presentation of excellent greens, Fred and all staff members.

More matches in the C grade Championship will be played this week.

Plans are progressing for the visit of the Mulgrave Club on Thursday, May 11 when about 80 bowlers will be playing.

Players are requested to record their name if playing.

Social bowls will be played on Thursday at 1pm and on Sunday at 10.15am.

An accumulator event is being considered for the near future on a Sunday mornings.

A successful social evening was held on Good Friday, with Justin Crowie and Nathan.

The crowd was swelled by a visit of Finley footballers after the game against Deniliquin.

The members draw has now climbed to $920 on Friday evening, awaiting a lucky member who is present at the club at the time of drawing.

In addition four people are added to the list of entrants in the $5,000 giveaway, to be drawn on Saturday, November 25.

Tickets for this draw are purchased on Friday and Sunday each week.

Murray Bowls Division will be holding its presentation of awards on Sunday, April 23, at the Cobram-Barooga Golf Club from 2pm to 4.30pm.
